Michele Draper- Financial Planning Administrator

What led you to choose this role?

I had worked for the NHS for 21 years and got to the point where I really needed a change. Something that was completely different and something to get my teeth into. At the time, one of the company’s team members (whom I personally knew) mentioned the company was looking to take on another financial planning administrator and I decided to go for it. In all honesty, I knew absolutely nothing about the world of finance or investments but thought it would be a good challenge for me if I got the job.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I’ve only worked at Headway Wealth for three months but up to now, the best part about my job has been the ongoing learning aspect of it.

Tell us about your role

My role is to provide admin support to the company’s financial advisers as and when needed. I’ve always been very organised which is why being in an administrative type role is a natural fit for me. I ensure everything is up to date, submit new applications and arrange client valuations when needed. I have also recently helped improve a few admin processes that help the company operate more efficiently.

Best advice anyone has given you?

My guiding principle has always been to give my all, no matter the situation. Be it work or personal life, I dedicate myself to improvement, aiming to be the best version of myself I can be.

Who DO You Most Admire?

The person I most admire and look up to is probably my mum.  She has Multiple sclerosis (MS), is wheelchair bound, and has carers in daily.  The one thing I have learnt from her is to never give up or let things get you down.  Everything she has been through (and still goes through daily) and yet she always has a smile on her face and says that there are people out there in a worse position – and she’s right.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am married and have two boys, Ashton and Jenson. My life revolves around football for my two boys and weekends are filled with games and practices, while weekdays are spent shuttling them around. In between the chaos, I steal moments of peace with long walks with our dog – my essential “me-time.”

What you are most excited about this year?

This year, my sights are set on two adventures: hitting the open road for a family camping trip (we’re all outdoor enthusiasts!) and diving deeper into my new role at work. By year’s end, I hope to feel like a true expert, navigating challenges with confidence.
